Just like every year since we are organizing the Memorial Concerts, we have some online auctions to support the event. This year we've received a very special offering from our friend, Darren Main, who has spent almost 20 years on the side of Gary Moore during the tours, and became a very close friend to him. He was always very friendly and helpful to us fans as well, while we were trying to get closer to Gary for a second, just to get a photo or a signature. We all really appreciate it that he still tries to help where possible. This year Darren has offered the Worldwide Gary Moore Fan Club some of his very last signed CDs and press photos from his own prized collection. What a gentleman! Thank you, Darren!
Please respect it, and buy these items only for your own collection or as a gift to a friend, and do not buy them for resale! Thank you!
Universal Music just re-released all the Thin Lizzy studio albums on vinyl, plus the legendary Live And Dangerous concert album. Two of these records are featuring Gary Moore's timeless guitar work. "Nightlife" was originally released in November 1974, after Gary's left the band, but the tracklist is including one song with him, because they've kept the original guitar on "Still In Love With You". Although Gary never got the credit for it, this song is really something that related to him as well. The great "Black Rose" was released in April 1979, when Gary has returned as a full-time member after his Colosseum II years. These new Thin Lizzy vinyl albums were released on 8th December 2014 and produced on quality 180g vinyl. You can order them directly from the Universal Music website at www.uvinyl.co.uk. Check out our related pages at the bottom of this article to see all the previous releases of these classic Thin Lizzy albums.
Jack Bruce was born in 1943. To celebrate his 50th birthday they've put together a fantastic concert in Germany. Actually, it was two concerts at the E-Werk in Cologne on 2nd and 3rd of November 1993, where many of his musician friends were joining him to play a wide selection of songs from his career, which is started back in 1962, when he joined to Alexis Korner. Of course, this release is important to us Gary Moore fans from another reason, too.
Time to start to work on our next year tribute to Gary, and to keep the tradition, we will make it here in Budapest, Hungary, just like the last three years. Originally the plan was to take it other cities every year, but now it's clear that we have to keep it here, and make our capital for a pleasant meeting point for all our friends in those early April days. We always have some fantastic time together. Let's meet again next year!
We've got in touch with some bands and musicians already, and of course really would like to welcome again our friends who played all the three previous gigs, just because our point is really not to put names on the posters, but to try to bring together all those people who care about Gary and his musical legacy. So, without a detailed program you can be sure it will be a great night! Of course we will try our best and put it together as soon as possible, and informing all of you about the details. One thing is sure, that next year it will be on the weekend (on Friday or Saturday night, 3rd/4th)...so probably it will be much easier to travelling for more people. It will be the Easter weekend in 2015, what of course can be good or bad in timing, but who really wants to be here with us to remember Gary, probably its better than a weekday.
